Podcast: Play in new window
Coming out of Houston, TX, Miss Money produces and performs R&B and hip-hop like no one else. She was among several artists recently featured in the rockumentary, Pick up the Mic:the (R)evolution of Homo-Hop, which is being screened at film festivals across the U.S. and Canada. Hear Miss Money’s music and listen as she talks about “the grind” of being of a R&B vocalist in a Rap-dominated business, the lack of support for openly gay/SGL artists (even in gay venues!), and her spiritual journey.
Also, listen to her program, Radio 713, for more with Miss Money and featured guests.

Wow, JW, this was great. I’ve always wondered about glbt folks in hip-hop, rap, soul, R&B, gospel, and hearing Miss Money (and following some links) openned a whole new world. Very exciting. Miss Money is particularly excellent. Do the folks over at OutQ at Sirius radio know about these artists? (I write “out loud”) given that they have a daily show that plays gay-identified artists? Hmm.
Anyway, excellent interview. I’d love to see her in concert if she’s ever in LA.
