So there a new web browser developed by Mozilla called Blackbird, designed to enhance to the online experience for African-Americans. I personally winced when I first heard about it because you can’t put a color on technology. You can, however, consider ethnicity in your communication and in building community. We do it all the time with urban television and radio networks, black community organizations, African-American newspapers, and so on. Besides, regardless of ethnicity, our viewing traffic and/or dollars support what we really to see and listen to even if they aren’t always the most objective points of view. Ask Dallas Voice. Ask Dallas Weekly. Ask Dallas Morning News. Hell, ask Google.
So, in light of that, the idea of Blackbird seems to be right on the money. Now for the execution….

Small correction– Blackbird is *using* the same software that Firefox is made from, but it is not at all supported by the Mozilla Foundation. It’s free software, and people can do whatever they want with it.
As for whether Blackbird is a good thing– I reserve judgment, too.
Thanks for the correction, Jeremy.
