Podcast: Conjuring Black Funk – Part 2

Today is the second part of my discussion with sociologist, sexologist, and shaman, Dr. Herukhuti about his book, Conjuring Black Funk–Notes on Culture, Sexuality, and Spirituality Vol. 1. Part two picks up with a review of the “HIV Industrial Complex” (discussed in part one of the interview and in the book). We also talk about the fear many B/black gays have with religions outside of Christianity, yet hanging on to a love/fear relationship of the culture of the Christian church (especially in the South), and how Dr. Herukhuti developed his own sacred sexual place, inwardly and externally.

His former column in ARISE magazine covering professional and organization development themes as well as politics in the workplace was a highly regarded source of critical thinking for professionals in the LGBT community.
