Texas Queer People of Color Conference held May 16 & 17

Statewide Queer People of Color organization, allgo, is hosting the 2nd Annual Statewide Queer People of Color conference at the 7A Resort, 333 Wayside Drive, in Wimberly, TX. Here’s more from the organization’s website:

The Texas Queer People of Color Statewide Summit, is a gathering of individual and organizationally connected queer people of color and ally activists coming together to build relationship, think critically, envision liberation, and create strategies that build and sustain a queer people of color movement across the state of Texas.

This year’s event registration, which includes one overnight stay at the facility, five meals, snacks and materials is $80. Space is limited, so don’t miss out. Contact Rose @ allgo for more information and for registration.

More on the group’s history is also at their website. The acronym of the group originally stood for Austin Latina/Latino Lesbian Gay Organization, until 2005, when the organization decided to honor the historical work of its past by keeping the name while focusing on queer people of color as a whole throughout the state of Texas.
