Monday jazz session mixtape

This week’s jazz podcast will begin with some funk as Pittsburgh native and Berkleee graduate, Ritchie Goods thumps his bass to Herbie Hancock’s fusion piece, “Palm Grease”. Following that, Rick Braun brings a cut from his latest, All It Takes, called, “I Got Your Back”, co-produced by Phillipe Saisse. Bringing the blues to the mix, Di Anne Price and Her Boyfriends, say “To Hell With Love”. Australian jazz pianist, Sam Keevers, produced two Latin jazz flavored products for the JazzHead imprint, and we’ll hear, “Livro”, from his CD, No Expectations. Back to the states with jazz pianist and filmmaker, Steve Blanco following with a single from his critically-acclaimed CD, Piano Warrior, with the track, “Underground”. Wrapping up this week’s show is founding member and keyboardist for the bands, Survivor and Ides of March (to name a few), Jim Peterik. From his new smooth jazz project, Jim Peterik’s Lifeforce, is the single, “Unconditional Surrender”, featuring the vocals of Lisa McClowry. As usual, please vote for your favorite two tracks in this week’s poll on the upper right of this home page, and thanks to IODA Promonet, you can find out where to buy the CD where these tracks came from in the comments section of this post.
