Dallas poet, Audaciously Speaking, needs our community’s help

I just received this note from Shelly Simpson of the Heeling Soles Foundation with a request to our local community for Audaciously Speaking, an outstanding spoken word artist and author of the book, I Can Make Walls Talk, available now at Jokae’s African-American Books, 3223 W. Camp Wisdom Rd., in Dallas.

On stage she is known as Audacious the poet, philanthropist, and director of both Audaciously Speaking and the Backpack Foundation. Today, she is Utronda Wilson daughter of Christine Wilson and she needs our help. This morning Mrs. Christine Wilson returned home to find her house in flames. Despite efforts to save her family home all was lost in a devastating fire.

We the friends of this family are asking our community to come together and mobilize to help this family back to its feet. On Saturday January 9th, 2010 in conjunction with the Love Affair benefiting the Back Pack Foundation we will be accepting monetary donations as well as personal hygiene products socks, lotions, tooth paste ect..

If you would like more information please contact Shelly Simpson at Heeling Soles@ymail.com, or Lady B Smoove at Mywdsflow@yahoo.com Thank you for your much needed help

Thank you for your assistance. If you’ve seen Audaciously Speaking at various open mics around town, you know gives her all when she performs. Let’s really show her family some love this Saturday night.

And be sure on bookmark our calendar to keep your weekends fun in Dallas / Fort Worth!
