Alex Hinton, director

I’m sharing a phone conversation with director, Alex Hinton, and we discuss the making of his film, “Pick Up the Mic“, which is being featured during the OUT TAKES Dallas film festival on Wednesday, November 1. Alex shares how the film, which documents GLBT hip-hop artists, gave him a personal sense of re-connection and family.

Also, Halloween happenings with 7 Connection and Caven Enterprises, event information about the Freedmen’s Cementary memorial in Dallas, and a salute to Rosa Lopez whose Bishop Arts ice-cream parlor, Suenos Sabrosos, is now closed.
