Sadly, 2009 also saw two prominent Black gay authors leaving this plane of existence. The passing of both E. Lynn Harris and Don Belton left our community in shock. Their literary work provided truth stones for our community to build upon that will not be forgotten. Harris was 54 and Belton was 53.

Via Northwestern University Department Chair and Professor, E.
